Unbelievable - if you project all oil and gas well records (including dry holes) onto a map of Michigan - almost no place in the lower peninsula is really 100% untouched, clean, and pristine. Where is PURE MICHIGAN?
Following what goes on with oil and gas exploitation in and around Adrian, Michigan since 2013 - and how these events in our little city connect to the global environmental situation... - with the occasional sidetrack to other related environmental issues in Lenawee county, Michigan and how those relate to global issues.

Oil & Water Don't Mix: A Rally for the Great Lakes
A million gallons of poisonous tar sands oil ruined part of the Kalamazoo River as
it spilled from a poorly maintained pipeline owned and operated by
Enbridge Energy. Enbridge, the same company with over 800 pipeline
spills since 1999, has also been pumping oil through two sixty year old
pipelines that run through the Straits of Mackinac. Now, they are
planning to drastically increase the capacity to pump even more oil
through the Straits – which could include the most toxic and corrosive
tar sands oil from Alberta, Canada.

Michigan Significant Pipeline Incidents Listing
http://primis.phmsa.dot.gov/comm/reports/safety/IncDetSt_st_MI_flt_sig.html?nocache=2672#_all
Showing quite a high incident of material, welding, equipment failure (MAT'L/WELD/EQUIP FAILURE) - and these are leaks that were detected. Leaks in the small diameter pipes going 3 feet deep into the soil between Heritage Park and the Witt Farm (approx. 1 mile long!!) will not be easily detected. Standard checkups for some of the pipe segments will not be done before 6 years - and not for the entire length...
