Carson Highway - Williamsburg Drive Update

Horizontal drilling continues off of Carson Highway and Williamsburg Drive right behind a residential area.
The amount of pre-drilling site preparation and pipe laying indicates that Savoy expects to tap into some major deposits...

  1. I wonder if anyone has measured the distance of 300ft between the drilling site and houses? Also, it may be a good idea if some of the homeowners were to do so.

    1. Why would the homeowners care? They are making MONEY off this. Lots of MONEY. The only reason this blog exists and the only reason anyone on here is complaing is that you all are jealous that you aren't making MONEY off these wells too! Just saying.

    2. There are almost 6-thousand residences in Adrian, and I'm fairly certain none are receiving oil/gas royalties. Even if we were, it might amount to about $10 a month tops.
Nope, can't do anything about the rural property owner who leases out to drilling. Good for them. But Adrian's properties are public, and us taxpayers never had a say about its use in fossil fuel exploration and apparently will have no say on profits received. Yet we are forced to breathe toxic fumes and drink questionable water. Why don't I move out you say? Because property values are in the basement and this oil madness isn't gonna help.
I'm not jealous: I'm ticked off! Just saying.

    3. I find your quote about having no say interesting. You DO have a say. Stop playing the victim. We live in a representative democracy. Use it. If you are unhappy with the state of things don't just
B&^%H about it, punish those who made the decision in your name. Take it out on the City Council and Mayor. There is an election coming up--organize and change the Council.

  3. I would post a blog entry, but unsure of the procedure.

On a drive to Tecumseh today I noticed that a pump is now operational at the Witt site. It was reported earlier that a pump is also in use at Heritage. There apparently is not enough natural pressure to bring the oil to the surface. Consumers Power is supplying the required electricity at Savoys expense.
The funeral home now prominently features a brand new red tank on its drilling site.
Lots of activity on the Carson site, but did not see a drilling rig. Consolidated Drilling of Mt Pleasant has a display sign at the entrance.
A friend told me that two Brine trucks left the Irish Hills in an easterly direction this AM---destination unknown.
Finally the gas flare on Shepard Rd. is large once again, maybe celebrating the holiday!
